Happy Thanksgiving!

 We are very thankful for our family every day.  This year was a bit different from previous years.  We will be getting together with the TX family next weekend when everyone will be home from school.  Today we enjoyed a Thanksgiving meal that was lovingly planned and prepared by Jason/Daddy.  I only helped a little bit.  Jason made a delicious honey glazed ham, twice baked potato casserole, sweet buttermilk corn bread, homemade cream of asparagus soup, and a Smores Galette for dessert. I helped by making the corn bread, Galette, and the casserole.  We are stuffed!

We hope that our family and friends were able to spend this day with the people they love the most.  We know that not everyone can be with their families.  We'd like to say thank you to the men and women of all branches of our military and their families. Praying that one day soon, you can be together every holiday.

We are thankful for a year filled with many answers to prayers, family and friends that continue to support and love us and enrich our lives, and the many blessings from our heavenly Father.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We are so very thankful this year and every year for our family near and far.  I'm so glad that we were able to spend the day with our Texas family.  Mom/Nana spent two nights in the hospital getting her medications adjusted again due to fluid buildup again, but was released Wednesday and was able to join in the feast.  A few of us are sick, but managed to make it over and enjoy the day with the family and framily.  We are missing our other TX family, OK family, and WA family terribly, but we know that they had a wonderful day giving thanks.  We had a lot of delicious food, fun with a game or two, and great family time.  My Dad/Papa started us of with communion and Henry said grace and did a fantastic job.

We are also thankful for  God's love and provision, our friends, our teachers, our school, Jason's new employer, this house, healthy furry kids, and so much more.

We hope you all had a wonderful day with family and friends.

Park Afternoon

Henry hunted bugs for almost the full 2 hours that we were at the park yesterday. Here he is building a house for a ladybug.

We had a family of six join us and join in the bug hunt, building ladybug houses, and playing.
Emma is dealing with some allergies and was worn out yesterday. she played with the other kids, but was quiet which is unlike her. She's normally a social butterfly. It seems bubbie took that role yesterday.
She zoned out right in the middle of everything...off in her own little world.
The kids managed to catch this huge grasshopper! I think this is the biggest one yet.
Henry kept it and the grasshopper is being taken care of with great care.

Stuff...

We helped celebrate my grandfather's 94th birthday at one of his favorite restaurants.

Emma fell asleep in my recliner on one of the days she wasn't feeling too good. It was too cute to pass up.

First time in the chair by herself for a haircut. She went second. Her brother encouraged her by saying, "It's ok Sissy, I'm proud of you." She stopped crying after that.

Stuff...I didn't know what to title this post. We're all still here. The kids picked up some kind of bug(viral, we think) or a cold and have passed it on to me and Jason. So the last week and a half have been loads of fun(can you sense the sarcasm there?). It started off with Henry running a high temp/low grade fever and snowballed from there. Emma followed with the same symptoms about a day and a half later and then Daddy and Mommy started a little over a week ago(seems much longer). Emma is back to being a healthy girl and Henry just has a little bit of a sniffle accompanied by a cough from drainage. Daddy seems to be pretty much back to good. And Mommy is bringing up the rear-still stuffy and hacking my lungs out. In other words, there hasn't been much going on around here including picture taking. I did manage to get some taken before the yucky bug got the best of me. Fall has finally come to Texas and we were able to pull out the light weight jackets and spend a little time outside at Nana and Papa's. Long enough for the dinosaurs to discover new land and to get in trouble for eating on Nana and Papa's newly planted frontyard. We went to a bookfair at N&P's church and bought a few new books, colored a truckload of pictures, helped Mommy cook breakfast and lunch a few times, gotten haircuts from Mrs.Lucy, and bunches more(my brain just can't remember right now).
