Dreaming of Sugarplums...

I check the kids every night before I head up to bed. I had to run and grab the camera because look at these sweet little faces dreaming away. I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but watching my little people sleep is a favorite things of mine. And it's not just because they are quiet at that time, well, not the only reason;) They both snore now and then, Henry talks in his sleep, and Emma makes little cute sounds in her sleep. The boy likes to sleep on his back with his arms either stretched up above his head or carelessly tossed over to the side. Emma likes to sleep on her tummy with her rump in the air or snuggled up with one of her many stuffed animal friends. Henry runs warm like his daddy and prefers, even in the dead of Winter, to sleep without a shirt. And Emma likes to be bundled up with layers and layers of warm blankets. I wonder what flutters through their head as they drift off to sleep at night, what visions greet them in their slumber. I hope that the images that fill their minds as they sleep are good and I'm almost always prepared to lose sleep when they aren't. At this time of year, when things all around are aglow with lights, music, gifts, and merry wishes, I hope that they do dream of sugarplums and fairies and all the things that their two imaginations can come up with. Dream well.
