Henry started asking if we could carve jack-o-lanterns at about 6:30am Saturday morning. We finally(in his words) started carving around noonish. He was very excited until it was his turn to pull out the guts of his pumpkin. He tried it once and then said that it felt gross. So I dug out the guts for him and he supervised.
Emma was all for pulling the guts out of her pumpkin. They did some pumpkin carving at school last week and she brought home seeds for us to roast. So she was ready to do it again and had a blast getting all gooey!
Emma with her first finished carved pumpkin. We bought kits, the kids picked the stencil, and I carved. Emma picked the silly skeleton and cat.
Henry picked a bat perched on top of a gravestone. This is his scarey monster face! Better watch out he'll reach out and grab ya!
A little later that evening I lit them up again to see if I could get a few more pictures of the finished jack-o-lanterns. Another shot of Emma's.
And another shot of Henry's
And then the two together. Not bad for someone who has never carved pumpkins before:)
