Visit with Papa!

I am so very happy to announce that my Dad/Papa has finally been released to a rehab hospital. He made the move on Thursday afternoon. He gets physical therapy three hours a day to help build up his strength and muscles and he's also now on a low calorie diet until he can tolerate more. Since he has been hospitalized with the gall bladder removal surgery and with the pancreatis and infections, the kids have only seen him once. The last time these two saw their Papa in person was over a month ago. Since then they have talked to him over the phone or done a couple of videos on my droid(cell phone) that I've shown to him and he did one for them too. Needless to say, they have been extremely anxious to see him and he has been extremely anxious to see them. So today we headed over and got haircuts with Ms. Lucy and then went over to the rehab hospital to see him and celebrate cousin Elysabeth's 13th bday. We had a very small and quiet party there at the hospital and Dad/Papa was able to join us which thrilled not only his 13 yr old granddaughter, but the rest of us as well. The kids finally got to see their Papa and give him hugs and kisses in person. Emma kept going over to him and hugging on him and Henry didn't stray too far from his side. And Mommy was over the moon, since I finally got to hug and kiss my Dad after so long. I think they were hesitant at first, but warmed up really fast. Papa looks a little different-he's lost quite a bit of weight. And we have repeatedly told them, that once they did get to see him in person, they would have to be really gentle. It's been a long time since all the family has been together. He still has a ways to go on recovery, but is making big strides every day and is looking forward to being able to go home. Hopefully that will be in about 10-12 days. So keep those prayers and positive thoughts coming. Every single one is so very much appreciated.
