Kindergarten Orientation

Orientation for Kindergarten was last night at school. Jason took the kids' supplies in and stayed for the short meeting. We found out last night that the kids will be in separate classes. This will help with their social development, their growth as individuals, and will prevent them from concentrating on what the other is doing instead of paying attention in class. They usually do well on their own. And I doubt that either of them will have any trouble making new friends.

We've been practicing for the last two weeks. When I say practicing, I mean, we now have a school morning routine. We're waking up earlier, getting dressed, having breakfast, brushing teeth and combing hair, and being ready to go out the door by a certain time. I'll be laying out clothes the night before, packing backpacks, and making lunches so that the morning routine runs a little more smoothly.

We have a little bit of paperwork to fill out and return on the first day of school and we still have to decide which one of us will go with which kiddo on the first day to get them acclimated. From everything we've read and heard from other parents and the teachers, the first month to month and a half will be an adjustment for all of us. So Daddy and Mommy are trying to prepare for that roller coaster ride.

We do the meet and greet on Friday night. So the kids will meet their teachers and will also be able to meet the other kids in their classes. This should make Monday a bit easier.
