Last Friday during naptime I was surprised to see Henry walking through the doorway to our livingroom. I say this because prior to this past weekend neither of the kids had attempted to climb out of their cribs. The closest they had come to doing so was the weekend before that when we had a slumber party at Nana and Papa's house when they started to climb out of their pack-n-plays which we use as portable beds(well, at least until now). So, Jason came home early Friday afternoon and we headed out to shop for toddler beds, new mattresses, and new bedding. We ended up buying all at Walmart for under $300. The kids picked out what bedding they wanted and Daddy and Mamma picked the rest. Jason sarted working on moving the cribs out of the way and then proceeded to put the toddler beds together while the kids watched. The end result is the above picture. The first night wasn't easy-I spent most of the night in between their beds on the floor. I didn't sleep much. Naptime the next day didn't work too well either-no sleep, clothes from their closet and their dresser strewn all over the floor, the baby monitor hiding under one of their beds-it was just a big mess. Saturday night and since then they have slept all night for the most part. We've had a few latenight parties and then they go back to sleep. Unfortunately, naptime is another story. They have decided that naptime is not for sleeping or playing quietly, it's for making a mess and breaking things. Clothes are still being pulled out of drawers and of hangers, shoes are scattered all over the floor, stuffed animals thrown all over, and today the humidifier bit the dust(I think-still have to check-it's been taken out of their room). I know this will pass and they will sleep at naptime, but it's frustrating picking up all the time and they do help. The only kind of cool thing about them not sleeping is that during their bedtime bottle(soon to be gone too) they have been super cuddlie and have fallen asleep rocking with me:) We'll keep you posted. We're doing a lot of new things-brushing teeth, brushing their own hair, picking out their outfit for the day, helping clean house, etc. Coming soon-potty training, working on learning colors, numbers, and letters and much more.
