On man!!!

Do you remember how I bragged about the kids not being sick since the move? Well, somebody smack me or something because we got the call today from school that all parents dread. The your kid has pink eye call:( Both K classes have been passing pink eye around along with all the other lovely germs. So we decided to pick up both kids and save the extra trip to the pediatricians office.

Mrs. A called and informed me that Henry caught pink eye and that we needed to come pick him up. So I decided to checkout both kids since Emma's eyes were looking kind of almost pink eye-ish. Good thing we picked them both up and went in to see the doc. Both kids have had a cough and some sniffles for about 3 days and we thought it was allergies due to the recent time spent at the old house. We should have known better.

Henry and Emma have got the major germies:) Pink eye, Strep(again), and Flu Type A. Good grief!!! So no school tomorrow. We are hoping that their temperatures come down and stay down so that they can return to school on Thursday. That would be nice since Thursday is their 6th birthday and we plan on taking in cupcakes for both classes. They shouldn't be contagious after tomorrow, but we have to see what their temps do.

Emma snuggling with her bestest buddy, Chance.
Sometimes the best medicine in the world is a cuddle from your pup.
She asked me to go ask Chance if he would snuggle with her. The pup was more than happy to curl up with his girl.

We will be going in to see Dr. K to see if Emma has an ear infection. She's been running an elevated temp since Wednesday and has been saying that her ear hurts. We've been medicating with Tylenol and Ibuprofen and some homeopathic ear drops. We've been able to get the temp down, but her right ear is really bothering her.

UPDATE-Emma has been diagnosed with Strep again and also has Scarlet Fever. Dr.K told me not to panic. Scarlet fever can sometimes accompany Strep, but is usually not dangerous. she gave me the signs to look for and reassured me not to worry. We go back in 10 days for a recheck. Emma starts on Amoxicillin this afternoon. She is not a happy camper right now. Her ears are clear, but her sore throat is making her right ear not happy. So she is pretty uncomfortable and there isn't anything else I can give her at the moment. So we are settling for lots of cuddles and snuggles and maybe a much needed nap. We'll keep you posted.

Dear Germs

Dear Germs,

It has been requested by this household that you please, please, PLEASE stay away from all of us. While we appreciate the fact that you need places to stay, love meeting new people, and are very sociable, we'd like you to stay away. For those of you germs that are questioning whether or not this means you...I mean, all forms of colds, sinus infections, single or double ear infections, strep throat, flu, viruses, and any other yucky bug you can think of. If Mommy needs to, she will post a NO TRESPASSING SIGN in front/ and around our house. So please keep your sneezing, coughing, fever inducing, ache causing, yucky germs to yourselves. Thank you and have a nice day.

Sincerely,
Mommy H
