Count your blessing, thank your lucky stars, cherish your healthy kiddo because some families are not able to. So many families are affected by juvenile diabetes. It is a life changing disease. We are very fortunate to have two healthy children, but we have some dear friends of ours who lives changed due to JDRF. It is an every minute, daily battle for these kids and their families. This disease is not only physically and mentally exhausting, but financially as well. There are no breaks for the kids or their caregivers. I've mentioned our friends, Ali and Nathan and their son, Mikey before. Mikey has Type 1 diabetes and deals with finger pricks several times a day, insulin shots, limits in diet, exercise, and all sorts of things that you just don't ever think about. And Ali and Nathan have had to quickly learn the ins and outs of Type 1 diabetes. They have rolled with every punch and keep on trucking. Ali shared this video with me and others and I want to share it with you. I have never met Rowan or her momma or her sister, but my heart and my prayers go out to this family. We will be donating this year like we have in the past few years to JDRF.
