The inside of his wrist has road rash and bruising and is sore to the touch.
A closer look at the bite. Still swollen and red. Poor kid:(
One last shoot of his injured arm. You can see his scrapped up elbow in this one.
The kids and I went on a walk yesterday after we finished homework. We went for a "long" walk as requested. And on the way back Henry got in a hurry and was running and tripped and fell. He braced his fall with his left arm. At that point we were half way back home. So we dusted him off, kissed the boo boos and continued back home. Along the way he was bug hunting and digging in leaves along the sidewalk. I'm not sure if this happened once we got home or while we were still on the walk, but something(spider or bug) took a bite out of my kid and things just got worse from that point. One minute he was fine and the next he was crying and would not calm down no matter what we did. We even tried a nice bath, but he wanted out almost immediately. We finally got him calm and to a point were he could talk to us and tell us what was going on. We checked for broken bones or anything out of place. The above big huge bite is what we saw along with an extremely swollen little arm and hand. We iced the arm and hand all night and gave him two doses of children's Motrin. The swelling went down some, but not all the way. So first thing after dropping Emma off at school, we went to the pediatricians office. She sent us over to Radiology for x-rays and then we returned to her office. Happy to say that nothing was broken and all ligaments are as they should be. He is just having a pretty bad reaction to the bite. We are to treat with Benadryl cream and give him Motrin for the pain and keep an eye on it. Henry has pretty much been himself today except for tired from being up most of the night. Daddy and Mommy are like the walking dead today. It's not pretty, but it's now 5pm and we are still awake and aware:) And most importantly, Henry is doing well.

Granny has bad reactions to spider bites too. It makes me feel all achy like I have the flu for a couple of days. I try to be nice to spiders, but I'm way to big for them to eat, so they shouldn't bite me or Henry either.
