Busy Bees

So just like the title states, we've been busy bees. And I wouldn't say we've been very social as of late, just busy here at home. We've been Spring/Summer cleaning. Well, mommy has anyway and that would explain the delay in updates and posts. Henry and Emma have been growing like you wouldn't believe. Can't believe they are 4yrs old already. Four years old and learning how individual they are. And boy are they! So I thought this time I'd update on each one and then maybe a combined update.

Our little old man/Henry has been up to "no good." Nooo, I'm just kidding. He's just been proving to be a very strong willed little boy. Wonder where he gets that from?! He's all boy-so when it's not blistering hot outside(which hasn't been lately) we've been outside digging in the dirt and burying dinosaurs and other toys and then treasure hunting for them. When we're outside, dirt and his dump trucks are his favorite toys. He's also into bug hunting and "helping" them get home. So far none of our bug friends have taken to biting the boy thank goodness. He has a boundless amount of energy ALL. THE. TIME. From the minute he wakes up in the morning until bedtime, he is go, go, go! Some days he is extremely stubborn and can be a big bully towards his sissy(which he gets corrected for). On those days it seems like I am telling him no or putting him in time out or as a last resort spanking all the time. And on other days, he is such a sweet boy. I know, in years to come, he'll be hating me for calling him "sweet." On his sweet days, he gives hugs and kisses whenever he feels like it, he wants to snuggle more, and he loves to be tickled. He's doing lots of little boy stuff-climbing all over, jumping from insane heights, playing superheroes, or playing with his cars and trains. He loves to decorate their room and make it into the "animal cafe" aka Rainforest Cafe. And he does a great job-stuffed animals everywhere, up on the dressers, peeking out from under their beds, in little herds. It has to be just right or he won't settle for bed. He's our little music man. Almost every mourning you can hear him humming or singing through the monitor before we go get them up for the day. Henry loves music-loves to sing, dance, hum any tune his little ears hear. He'll sing along with the radio on the car, sing along with music cds at home, or just make up his own little ditty:) He's tall and all muscle and slowly but surely I see his baby face becoming a little boy face. He's such a handsome little guy:) A few new things have entered into his/our daily routine-he takes a daily chewable vitamin twice a day and is now on Singular for allergies. The meds have made such difference-no more sneezing like crazy throughout the day and no more stuffy yucky nose. Also, his potty training is finally starting to take shape if that makes sense. He's getting better and better at telling me/us when he needs to go. We hope that he can get it down in the next month or so in time for pre-k. Otherwise, he's still our meat and potatoes man. Loves most of his fruits and veggies and goes for the occasional treat. He's learning slowly how to be more and more independent and rely on himself to figure things out instead of daddy or mommy. It's been a struggle for him and for me. Our levels of patience seem to be similar:) All in all, the little old man is doing well and continues to show us just how wild and crazy he can be.

Emma, The Little General, is growing unbelievably fast like her brother. She's turning out to be more girlie everyday. That is not a complaint at all. The color pink does grow on you after your 4yr old daughter has pounded it into your brain:) She still has her tomboy roots and likes to get out there and play in the dirt with the boys and go bug hunting ad stuff. She is definitely her own little person-very specific about her likes and dislikes and has absolutely no problem telling us. She's our little artist. Painting, drawing, coloring, and being crafty are her favorite things to do. And I must say her pictures are quite impressive. NOOOO, I/we are not biased at all, not one little bit:) Like almost all girls she like playing with dolls-Barbie, little Disney princesses, etc. Her most recent favs are Polly Pockets and Little Pet Shops. We're glad she likes these toys, but do they have to make their accessories so freaking small?! And Emmie loves, I mean LOVES, makeup. Not just lipstick, but foundation, blush, eyeshadow, etc. She is a wiz at applying the stuff too;) We try to encourage them to do as many things as possible with hands on experience. She could and probably would spend all day applying makeup if we let her. We've had a few major raccoon eye and scary clown lip incidents. Pretty funny and yes, I do have pictures:) She's a little chef in the making and makes us all sorts of interesting dishes. She loves the little kitchen she got for Christmas and spends a lot of time cooking for us. And she is a big goof! The facial expressions this kid makes sometimes are roll on the floor hilarious. She is almost completely potty trained now and we are very proud of her. She is looking forward to going to pre-k and making new friends and learning new things.

Both of them are growing up so fast and we are trying to enjoy every moment-even the bad ones. I'm already working on the next planned post some pretty entertaining stuff I hope. Hopefully this has given everyone a little catch up with us. It's proving to be more difficult to have the time and the energy to post as regularly as I would like lately.
