We took the kids in on the 31st for their four year checkup/immunization shots visit. I was a bit nervous about this year's shots because the kids are so much more aware of things now. Boo-boos and ouchies are not unheard of at our house-kids will be kids and bruises and scratches and scrapes happen all the time due to rough playing and stumbling over their own feet. So we explained to them why we were going to see the doctor which included telling them that they would be getting shots. They both did really well. Our pediatrician's office has a well child room and a sick child room-both filled with lots of fun toys. We only had to wait briefly in the well child room before we went back to see the doctor. In that short amount of time Henry found some great stuff to play with. He liked the toys so much that he wanted to stay and play all day at the office. He wasn't very happy when we were done and told him we weren't staying. Emma was excited about the whole visit. She happily volunteered to go first-she was weighed on the big scale, had her temp taken, and had her blood pressure taken-and had a smile on her face the entire time. Henry wasn't as happy about it, he was still wanting to go back and play, but he got weighed, had his temp taken, and his blood pressure taken. The doctor came in and checked both kids and was very pleased. And then the nurse came in and gave shots and both of the kids did a great job. They cried a little and then were fine. And then they got to pick stickers as a reward. So here are the stats for their 4 yr. check.
Emma
29 1/2 pounds
3 1/2 ft tall
98/64 blood pressure
10% for height and weight
Dr. Kowalska said Emma was "perfect!"
Henry
31 pounds
3 ft 3inches tall
107/61 blood pressure
25% for height and weight
Dr. Kowalska said Henry was "great!"
