Mommy Got a Job!

Well...kind of.  Let me explain.  This year I have been volunteering a lot at school.  The parents at school are required to either donate funds or volunteer for various jobs to earn co-op hours.  We have to earn 60 per child per year.  I am happy to say that we are already beyond our required co-op hours for this year and what is cool is that we can roll over our extra to next year.  I now have a few jobs at school on a regular basis.  I was unofficially named the Kindergarten photographer last year and have now been officially named that for this year.  I cover all three classes on field trips, during class parties, during special school activities, and doing their daily routines in class.  Some of the kids even refer to me as "the picture lady" :)  Now that we(the K classes and I) have spent more time together, they know me by name and call me, "Miss Jenny".

This year, starting next Friday, I will also be adding a few more jobs to the list.  I will be taking over as the art teacher for Emma's class on Friday mornings.  We will be doing art/craft projects that relate to what the kids are learning about, holidays, and any other K friendly art projects that I can find.  And I will also be working/volunteering every other Wednesday.  I've already done some projects for the teachers-organizing the supply room, sorting supplies for upcoming events/projects, and just straightening up/organizing various areas that they just don't get a chance to do.  Some jobs have been quick and easy and others have taken a few days.  And today, I substituted for Henry's teacher and will be subbing again in March for one of the other K teachers.

Here are the cool parts:
1. More time with Henry and Emma!
2. More chances to refine and better my skills as a photographer!
3. A chance to work with three amazing ladies(the K teachers) and try to pay them back for all of the outstanding work they do for all of the kids!
4. Earn required co-op hours (in my opinion, rather easily)!
5. More chances to feed and fill my arts/crafts needs and teach the kids some fun things!
6. Spend time with some really really great kiddos and I'm not just talking about our Henry and Emma;)
7. Get paid in hugs, sweet smiles, high fives, I love yous, I missed yous, good morning Miss Jennys, etc!

I've been spending a lot of time at school lately and will be doing more through the end of the school year.  Hence the lack of posted pictures and posts as of late.  We have plenty to share, so come back and check in every few days.  I'll be changing up my schedule here at home to fit in with the scheduled time at school.
