1st Day of School

Emma and Henry had a terrific first day back at school!  Emma's favorite thing about school today was play time even though it was wicked hot outside.  Henry said that his favorite thing was learning, although when asked he couldn't remember what he learned.  He had one of hi famous little mischievous looks on his face as he said that. Neither one of them ate much of their lunch, but that's understandable.  It is extremely hot outside and they were most likely distracted by all of the day's activities and the heat.  It looks like each class has about 13 kids.  There was a mix of happy excited kids and little tear soaked faces in all the classes this morning.  By this afternoon at pickup time, it looked like everyone made it through the day without any major issues.  Henry and Emma came home and were hot, tired, and hungry.  I'm sure over the next few days, they will be more willing to share how their days went.  I think the rather early wake time (around 4:30 or 5am) this morning caught up with them.  And I did NOT wake them up that early!  They did that on their own.  Once we have all re-adapted to the school routine, the many adventures of H and E's school days will be full of funny stories.
