104...

It's really really hot here. We've been in the triple digits the last 3-4 days. The kids wanted to go to the park on Monday, but I had things that needed to be done here at the house. So we went yesterday morning and even at 10am, it was HOT! Thankfully most of the playground was still shaded. When we arrived at the edge of the park both kiddos took off running for the playground. Emma started playing right away, but Henry was disappointed that they were the only kids. He got over it and started racing around.

Trying to sneak up on some birds. I think all of the shhing probably frightened them away.
Our last time down the slide. Henry and I ended up trading places before we zoomed down the triple slide.
Henry has been getting more brave about his fear of heights. He wanted to try the monkey bars again and got up and made it to the sixth bar and then quickly came down. The bars were too hot for his little hands.
Miss pink cheeks. Em's face/cheeks flush when she gets warm. She was bright pink by the time we got home.
There is a really big field by the playground area, so the kids did some running in the wide open space.
Emma watching her shadow.
Racing each other.
Two little hot monkeys.
The first thing she did once she made it to the playground...hit the slide. Our girl loves to slide.
They may not always get along, but they are never too far away from each other.
Mr.Cool.

We ended up walking across the street to our rec center to use the bathroom. And then we did our own little tour of the facility. I forgot that on the second story there are more work out rooms with weights and an inside track for walking and running. We did about five laps and then the "newness" wore off and it was time to go. The plan was to go on a long walk per Henry's request, but he compromised with his sissy and we ended up back over at the park for about 30-45 more minutes. And then for the short walk home, it was "I'm hot, I'm hungry, I can't make it" . When I say short walk, I literally mean about a block from the park to the house. We did make it home, all gooey from sweat and sunblock, but we made it!
