Papa/Dad Update

We drove to Richardson today to visit with the family and see my dad who is still in ICU. He has made some major improvements, but they are keeping him there for a bit longer. He has had two setbacks-1)an irregular heartbeat 2)bacterial infection that is highly contagious,but is being treated by antibiotics. So we have to suit up before we go in to see him. The continued irregular heartbeat is the main reason for keeping him ICU. He's on a low sodium diet for now and is not liking the hospital food much. His eyes lite up today when my mom mentioned that he had some pudding for dessert. His spirits were good today and he was chatty with me when I went in to see him. He looks sooooo much better than he did when I saw him on Monday. Once they get the irregular heartbeat under control then they should be able to move him to Intermediate Care and then either to a regular room or maybe even home. A physical therapists came in while I was in for my second visit with him and was going to begin working with him and getting him moving more. The main part of his recovery will be getting his strength back. I've been able to take my phone in to show him two short videos the kids did for him since they are too little to go in for a visit. He loved them both and did a video for them today so that they could see what their Papa was up to:) I'll keep you posted. and you'll be seeing more regular posts from here out I think.
