Lizard Heads

Emma and Henry came running into the family room the other night, giggling all the way. And this is what was on their heads as they came threw the doorway. Lizard Heads!!!! They are really enjoying learning about, Buddy, our newest family member. He's a TX spiny lizard that we caught in the yard and have adopted as a pet. These two are very good about making sure Buddy is happy and healthy and enjoying his new habitat. So maybe this was some sort of tribute to him the other night:) Silliness...

Animal Friends, Legos, and a Blustery Day

Look at how big these two are getting. They haven't been the best of friends lately, but every once in a while you catch a glimpse of how they really feel about each other. They were helping each other look for ladybugs and grasshoppers and being very nice to one another.
Look at that handsome face. I love this little man face.
You can't see her sweet little face, but my Emma is underneath that windblown hair. She's our little mix of tomboy and princess. Love my Emma too:)
This is the helicopter Henry made for Uncle Kevin. the only thing I did was put the Lego man on for him.
If you look at the left hand lower corner and focus in, you should be able to see the newest animal addition to our family. This is Buddy, our TX Spiny lizard.
The little human legs in the left back corner are my handsome Henry's. He's our bug hunter. Today we got extremely lucky and Momma was able to catch a TX Spiny lizard which are hard to catch. We've spotted at least 4-5 of these ranging in different sizes in both our front yard and backyard.
Lego copter boy. Legos, the color blue, lizards, and helicopters have been his thing as of late.
There's an Emma under that pink "fuzzy". This is one of her favorite blankets that she's had since birth. It's made of fleece and is so soft.
Emma making lollipops with her Ello Creative System.
Henry has really started enjoying playing with Legos. He's in the process here of making a car/truck for his grandpa.

Family/Framily Bday Party:)

Aunt Julie, Uncle Philip, Brian, Kevin H(bday kid), and Tara H surfing the net.
"Uncle" Gary is in the light green shirt-he's one of the bday kids:)
Daddy(Jason) and cousin Catie chatting about all sorts of things around the fire pit at Papa and Nana's.
Emma having a light dinner and watching a video before we headed home.
Henry finishing up his dinner before we headed home. They both fell asleep within 5 minutes of being on the road.
Uncle Didup(Philip) and Mommy. We both could us some sleep. Philip flew in from grad. school as a surprise for Suza!
Aunt Suza (bday kid) and Emma being silly which is something they do an awful lot:)

We went over to Nana and Papa's last weekend for a joint bday party for Aunt Suza, "Uncle" Gary, and one of our newer framily members, Kevin. We grilled hot dogs and hamburgers, had 3 different desserts, opened bday cards, and just had a really good time.

Tall Car for Uncle Didup:)

Another one of Henry's creations from today. This one is for Uncle Philip. He said it had to be tall just like Uncle Didup:)

Grandpa's Car/Truck by Henry

We spent most of the day today playing with Legos. Henry has been super creative lately and this is a truck for Grandpa that he made today all by himself. He was very specific on where each piece went. It had to be just so for Grandpa:)

Granny and Grandpa Come to Visit:)

Grandpa and Granny Henriksen came for a week long visit last week. We had been counting down the days and nights until they came. Granny came in Sunday night and was greeted by two happily screaming kiddos that were so happy to see her. She got the grand tour of their room(which she has seen a number of times), but it's always new with them. And then we had a small hiccup. Henry realized that Grandpa didn't come in with Granny and all of a sudden we had big crocodile tears and a very unhappy little boy. With reassurance from Granny, Daddy, and Mommy he calmed down. And Monday evening Henry and Emma went with Daddy to pick up Grandpa from the airport.

We had a busy week. Almost every night we had a picnic in the family room at dinner time. And Granny and Grandpa had their very own entourage everywhere they went(except shower and bathroom). And they had their very own alarm clock. Hmmm, I wonder who that could be?! Henry managed to sneak upstairs to our room where Granny and Grandpa stayed to wake them up every morning. Thank goodness that most of last week the kids slept in.

In the first two days alone we colored, painted pictures on their bedroom wall, built with Legos, played with toy animals, watched kiddie movies, had tickle matches, read stories, and cuddled like crazy.

Wednesday we went out to lunch and decided to head to the Dallas Zoo afterwards. We got lucky in several ways that day. We are members of the zoo and got in for free and Jason's parents got in for free as well because of their military discount. We had cool weather and the rain held off until we were back at home. And we somehow managed to not get stuck in traffic on the way home. The big attraction for Henry was the bug house so we went there twice. Emma liked the reptile house and just being out with her grandparents.

Thursday we went to the Rainforest Cafe at Grapevine Mills Mall for lunch. Like you didn't know that was going to happen?! The cafe is one of Henry and Emma's favorite places to go so they had to share the experience with Granny and Grandpa. Daddy had to go int work for a meeting so we stayed home and played.

We didn't plan much because the weather wasn't the greatest and because we have a great time at home. And we didn't want to be go, go, go the whole time.

Daddy took Granny and Grandpa to the airport and Henry, Emma, and Momma stayed home. We blew kisses as they pulled out of the driveway. It was a really wonderful visit and we didn't want them to go. We love you and miss you Granny and Grandpa!!!

Thru Their Eyes

Back in July Aunt Lisa, Uncle Brian, and cousin Charles came for a visit and during that time Henry and Emma borrowed Momma's camera and took close to 200 pictures in one sitting. About 80 or so of those pictures were of the floor. Now don't get me wrong I love the fact that they want to take pictures and learn how to use the camera, but they were getting a bit rough with my camera. So Daddy decided on a trip to Fry's Electronics with Uncle Brian, to pick up a camera for each of the kids. They were thrilled to have their own cameras that they could use pretty much whenever and wherever they wanted. He picked up two Crayola digital cameras that are very durable and the kids love them. So now when they want me to take a picture, I suggest that they use their own camera. I still take tons of pictures. So I've decided that every month I'll be posting images of things here and there that the kiddos have captured on their cameras.
