A helicopter for Papa:)

Here's something special that Henry made for Papa today out of some of his Legos. I'm sure that I've mentioned how much the boy loves planes and helicopters. And here's the proof. He did this all on his own for his Papa.

Henry-Potty Training

The boy is going to want to kill me one day for posting this, but I'm going to do it anyway. Henry finally went poop in the training potty last night!!!! And is continuing to get better and better every day at regular potty training. He ran out last night after we had tucked them in bed and said, "Mommy, I put poo poo in the potty. Come and see!" I know it's not a drawing of a pretty flower or a 100 on a test at school, but it is a major accomplishment that we have been waiting for for a while with the little man. So yippee, we're making progress! We are so very proud of him. And I had to brag:)

Happy Birthday, Stephen!!!

Today is my best friend's birthday. Stephen and I have known each other since we were in diapers and have been best friends for 30+ years. He is a wonderful person. He's far away today or far enough away to where we can't celebrate with him in person. So we're sending him lots of hugs, kisses, and love. Happy Birthday, my dear friend!!!

Mamaw's Visit:)

Mamaw Christie and cousin Nancy came for a short visit on Saturday. Mamaw came bearing gifts-the kids each got really cool pop up books with sound. Henry's is about the jungle and Emma's is about the ocean. They LOVE them! But I think they had more fun talking with Mamaw and Nancy and showing them around the house. Mom and Dad were left behind for hand holding when we went to lunch and Henry asked to sit with Mamaw and Nancy instead of by me at lunch. He's a ladies man;) Emma wanted to go with them when they left to drive to Odessa and got upset when we said we couldn't this time. The kids as well as Jason and I wanted more time to visit, but Mamaw and Nancy needed to get on the road. We plan on making a trip in the future. We had a really nice visit and as always wish we all lived closer so that we could see each other more often. We are so very glad that we could see them. We love you Mamaw and cousin Nancy. Thanks for coming to see us.

Uncle Philip's Bday/Bonvoyage Party

New Family Members

We took the plunge last weekend and bought a fishtank, goldfish, and all the accessories.
Henry and Emma helped pick out the fish and all the decorations that are in the tank. They are helping feed the dish every day; learning the responsibilities of pet ownership along the way.
Last Thursday while most of the Martin family were here after my grandfather's funeral, Henry, Emma, my cousins Joshua and Clint, Aimee(Josh's gf), and Aunt Linda went on a bug hunting adventure in the front yard. Josh managed to find a grasshopper who became known as Little Henry. Here's Bub and Sissy keeping an eye on Little Henry.
Henry was very hands on, but very gentle with his grasshopper. Little Henry went to bed with the kids Thursday night in a bugcatcher and survived until late Friday morning. He's now in grasshopper heaven.

Aunt Lisa, Uncle Brian, and cousin Charles Come for a Visit

Aunt Lisa, Uncle Brian, and cousin Charles came for a brief visit on their way up to see Granny and Grandpa Henriksen in Washington. We had a really good visit.
The three cousins. Emma was a little mommy while they were here-was a big helper. Henry enjoyed the time as well, but was a little jealous. In the end, the kids got along really well.

Small Delay

There will be just a small delay until my next picture post. I'm currently using my old laptop because the power cord died on my other and the battery was completely drained. Another is on order and due either tomorrow or Monday. So I don't have to move pictures from one computer to another, I've decided to wait to post any pictures. There is plenty to post about and a few things to show everyone. I'd rather wait though until I'm back on my other machine. So again I ask for patience from family and friends and our blog readers. New pictures will be up soon and I'll get everyone updated on Henry and Emma and what's been up at our house.
