Parks and Lincoln Logs

There's plenty of things to tell everyone about Emma and Henry and how much growing and changing they are doing at the moment, but I'm just doing a quick post tonight. I have to gather and organize my thoughts for the rest of the latest happenings.
Here are a couple of things that we have been up to. In the past couple of weeks we've been trying to get the kids outside as much as possible when the weather has permitted. We aren't buried in snow or anything, but we have had some rather chilly weather here in big Tex. Last weekend we went to a new park that we had never been to. It's a rather large setup. The largest playground/fort setup that I've seen anyway. The kids were in awe of the size of it, but that didn't stop them from running at full speed from the parking lot to the play area. Henry took to the fort right away. We only had to coax him a little bit to climb up on his own and start exploring. Emma on the other hand was hesitant. It was cold out that day and we hadn't originally planned on going to the park so Mommy(bad Mommy) didn't put coats on them. I think she was cold so her mind wasn't on playing. We only stayed for about 20 minutes, but I did get some good shots. Yesterday we walked down to the park down the street(very convenient) and played for a bit. I did get windbreakers on them, but the weather fooled me again. We nearly froze to death. It was a beautiful day, but the wind was bitter cold. And lastly, we've been building almost every day at home. We've had either their mega blocks out or Lincoln logs and have been building like crazy. So here are a few shot of what H and E have been up to.

Belated Happy Birthday, Uncle Kevin and Cousin Catie!!!

Yesterday was Uncle Kevin and cousin Catie's birthday. They share a birthday which has to be the best present Kevin has ever received. Catie turned Sweet 16 and had a party Saturday night and then another with the family Sunday afternoon. We had a Thanksgiving day themed lunch at Kevin and Julie's and some yummy homemade cake with ice cream and strawberries for dessert. Lots of fun was had by all. So Happy Birthday, Kevin and Catie! We love you:)

2009 So Far

Gotta love Tonka trucks! We played outside in the mud and had a blast.
Emma making mud pies or pasta. Mmmmm...yummy, mud pasta:)

The truck got stuck and he complained. I told him to use his muscles and he managed to get it unstuck and continued on his way dumping mud all over.

There are occasions when the two of them are so sweet to each other. This happens to be one of them. A rare moment these days. I'm sure they will be buddies again soon.

Emma all curled up with her to favorite blankets/quilt. Granny made the quilt for her. She feels the same way her brother does about Granny blankets. She loves them and nothing will replace them.

I think we were watching a video. Henry wanted a blanket. He's all snuggled up with the quilt Granny made him. There is NO substitute for Granny blankets.

Henry got an airplane as one of his prizes. Here he is flying it around in the family room. I'm surprised that it's lasted this long. The plane and the ceiling fan have had a few collisions.

Recently our daughter was abducted by aliens. This is what was sent back to us. A sweet little girl with antennae coming out of her ears. When asked what said things were, she answered, "Boogies." Boogies, for those of you who don't know, are Emma's nickname for qtips. And just so no one freaks out, I don't let her/them run around with qtips in their ears.

Emma loves makeup. So when Aunt Suza got a sample from Avon, who did she give it to? Emma, of course. Her is our fashionista modeling the latest shade. She's bloating her lips. Too cute:)
There's more to tell, but I'm gonna save that for the next post.
