Mama's Retreat
This past weekend I went to a women's conference at my parent's church with my mom and two older sisters. We had a great time together! The conference started Friday night and resumed Saturday morning and ended Saturday afternoon. Since all of the females of babysitting age were at the conference, Jason, took Friday off and stayed home with the kids Friday night and Saturday while I was in Richardson for the conference. I was worried, not because he doesn't know what he's doing, but because Henry and Emma have been a handful lately. They are good kids, but they are kids and are in their "terrible twos". So I was very grateful for the break. I love my kids very much, but I do tend to need a break every once in a while. The problem is usually I don't take it easy when I do get breaks. I always find something that needs to be done-cleaning, laundry, ironing, etc doesn't take as long when you aren't chasng after two little people who can move REALLY fast! This time, I relaxed and really enjoyed the time with my mom and my sisters and enjoyed having time with some wonderful ladies at the conference. I didn't say up late, didn't sleep in; was busy the entire time, but learned a lot.
Jason said that he had a really fun time. The kids behaved for Daddy and said that they had had fun playing with Daddy. A few days before I had told them that they were going to have a special day with Daddy soon. Friday I slipped out quietly and then was welcomed home with "Yea, Mama home!" from Henry and Emma! Everyone was in one piece and happy.
I did get pampered a little before I came home. I was in desperate need of a hair cut. If my memory serves me correctly; the last time I had my hair cut was a year ago before we went up to Washington. So I had 7 inches taken off the length and had layers put back in. I'm hoping this will help with the headaches. It's my summer do and it feels great!
We're all doing well. Counting down the days until Daddy(Jason) is on vacation and we have a special visit from Granny and Grandpa Henriksen from Washington! We are so excited about their visit!!!Can't wait!
I'll post some pictures in a few days. I think the kids grew overnight! And Emma has finally broken the 23 pound mark! She's weighed 22 pounds forever it seems! Henry has had his second haircut and Emma got her bangs cut. So now we just have to get Daddy in for his summer do! And we are at the very very early stages of potty training! More news and pictures soon! Take care!

Fun with Daddy
Jason had to work most of the night earlier in the week and came home early the next day to get some rest. He made it home before the kids were up from their nap and surprised them when they woke up. Daddy should know that if you lay down on the couch while the kids are around you'll most likely be jumped on. They did a little rough housing on and off the couch. So to capture all the fun I ran and grabbed the camera. Boots, our kitty cat, joined in on the fun. They had such a good time!

Happy Easter!!!
Look closely and you can see that she's putting the egg in her Elmo basket.
We had a great day! Crazy, but great! The family(well the Martin side) and a couple of friends came over for lunch and the egg hunt. We miss the Henriksen side of the family very much:( We have a fairly large house, but get pretty much all of the Martin(Jenny's family) side and a few friends(Ashlea-one of my best friends and her son, Jacoby) here and the house fills up quickly! The kids were running around, followed by the puppies(2 Dachsunds-Aunt Amy and BethBeth's), followed by the adults that they belong too. The food was great as always-big thanks to Nana, Yaya(Aunt Amy), Suza(Aunt Susan), Zup(Uncle Philip), Uncle Kevin, Gary, and Mama. After a late lunch, the eggs were filled with goodies, the kids told to stay away from the front windows so the eggs could be hidden, eggs were hidden in the front yard, and then the race was on! Henry and Emma got a five minute start and then Jacoby and Elysabeth got their chance to hunt too. The kids had a blast! I couldn't take pictures fast enough. All the kids ended up with lots of candy, some money for their piggy banks, and some small toys. I think everyone had a nice time. The kids were exhausted-no nap today so that made things interesting, but we made it. We love having family and friends over, but wow Mama and Daddy are tiiiiirrred! To our family and friends that couldn't be here-we love you bunches and miss you more! Happy Easter!

Being Silly
This is what I found when I went to get the kids up from their nap on Sunday. I opened the door to their room and fell to my knees laughing! Having children has it's trying times--this was NOT one of them!Enjoy the silliness! Henry had crazy hair and Emma was wearing her shorts on her head!As I came thru the door; she started to giggle and jump up and down in her crib. Henry laughed at his "sissy" and then wanted to show Mama his choo-choo.
