Spring Afternoon at Home with H & E

2 Year Doctor Appointment for H & E

We went to see Henry and Emma's pediatrician today for their 2 year appointment. Their height,weight, and development are right on target! They both did pretty well considering the fact that they didn't get in much of a nap today(and not because we didn't try).And unfortunately they did get a shot each-that really didn't go over well:( They quickly recovered and were able to help pick out which sticker each one of them got before we left the office. The overall report from the doctor was that we have two perfect, beautiful, smart children! She really did say that- no joke! So we must be doing something right. We return in one year's time for their 3 year appointment unless they get sick before then. As a treat we headed to a park nearby to play for a bit outside before the rain came. Made it back to the car and were able to stop by Target for some diapers,pull-ups, and toys and back home before it really started pouring down rain. Bonus-Daddy took the day off-so that was a treat in itself!!! So today was a pretty good day.

Henry and Emma turned two on the 3rd. So we decided to have some family and friends over to help us celebrate! The kids had a blast! We grilled and had a few side dishes and had birthday cupcakes and ice cream for dessert. Henry is still not really into cake-he loves cookies and as you can see Emma pretty much likes anything sweet and she loves chocolate! Henry does too, but Emma had the sweet tooth at this point. The weather ended up being a little cool, but not too cold. So the kids spent a lot of time outside. Aunt Amy gave us cousin Elysabeth's old slide and the kids had a ball almost all afternoon. They also brought the new puppies(Ranger and Riley-sorry no pics) and we enjoyed watching them react to and with our kitten/cat Boots. No animals were injured:) We managed to get them to come inside to eat some cake and open presents. Henry wasn't really into opening the gifts-he was more into getting the cars and trains out of their boxes so he could play with them! Emma was tearing through gift bags and packages so fast I couldn't keep up! They made out like bandits! We are so blessed to have family and friends that love our kids so much! They got trike bikes, Spring/Summer clothes, cars and trains, a baby doll, some gift cards, toys for the tub, TJ Bearytales(2), more toys, and lots of hugs and kisses! We all had a great day, but there is a reason we only do this once a year...Jason and I were wiped out by the end of the day!
