We had a great visit with Aunt Lisa, Uncle Brian, Heather(Brian's sister), and Jill(Brian's mom). They came by on their way to Washington for Christmas. The kids showed them their toys, we attempted to watch their new videos, and they had everyone read them stories, and poor Aunt Lisa was given tons of TeddyGrahams to eat-the kids shared their afternoon snack with her.
After Christmas we made an appointment with Ms.Lucy(the lady that cuts Mama's hair) for Henry and Emma's first haircut. So we loaded up everyone, packed the cameras, and took a deep breath and let Lucy do her thing. I got some before pics and some after, we videotaped the whole thing, and I made sure we saved their curls. Henry went first-he cried a bit, but he did alright. Emma cried also, but she doesn't like anyone touching her hair. So Mama sang songs to them and had lots of support from Nana, Aunt Suza, and cousin Elysabeth. And they also got a couple of pieces of candy from Ms.Lucy(I think that helped more than Mama singing:))
Right now they are both getting over a bad headcold. Before that they had an upper respiratory infection and Emma had the beginnings of an ear infection. They were healthy for about a week and then got sick again. So our nights and days have been long or short ones depending on how you look at it. We hope that by this weekend everyone will be happy and healthy.
We've been pretty busy with the holidays and we've added a new member to the family. About two weeks before Christmas we went to a local petstore and brought home an eight week old kitten. The kids helped pick him out. So it's like we have three toddlers running around! They all get along most of the time. I'll post pics of Boots when I get a chance. Right now have to go--the kids just woke up from their nap.
