A Few Words Before We Go
This will be our last post until we get back from Washington. Preparing for the trip is going to take up most of my free time so I decided to post a few pictures of the kids from this last week for everyone. Henry is taking more and more steps on his own and both Jason and I think that it's quite possible that we will be returning home with two walkers. Emma is getting closer and closer every day to trying out a few steps on her own-she's been watching Henry and taking notes:) They have been testing each other's limits so we've had to separate them from each other a bit lately. But for the most part they enjoy playing with each other. We are also going through another stage of teething with both kids. Emma has finally sprouted her two front top teeth and Henry is working on his uppers also. So they have been a little cranky and have needed some extra attention. They seem to be looking forward to the trip-we've been talking about it a lot. Henry is ready to go-going bye-bye is almost all that he talks about! And I think Emma is excited too! I know Mama and Daddy are!!! I said that this would be our last post until we get back, but we just may surprise everyone with some pictures at least while we are gone and will fill in the other details once we are back! We hope everyone is well. Granny, Grandpa, Mammaw, Aunt Rachel, Uncle James, Uncle Kasey, Aunt Tanya, Isabel, and Hope-we'll see you all REAL SOON!!!! Love to all our family and friends. Talk to you again soon.

And We Are Walking...And Talking...And...
Good morning!!!We have some great news to share with everyone! Henry took his first steps this morning!!!! Count 'em-5 steps all by himself! I was so proud I cried!!!! Henry and Emma just looked at me strange and then laughed. Unfortunately I wasn't prepared and didn't get a picture of it, but you never know when they are going to do something like that. Most of the time it's just out of the blue. And that's certainly what it was this morning. Emma has been surprising us with new words and phrases. And there's others that she either says really fast or very softly so we are still trying to determine what she is saying, but she is saying smething that's not babytalk. She's now playing peek-a-boo and saying the words too! And her two front top teeth have made their appearance finally. So it won't be long before I'm making steak and potatoes for Daddy, Henry, and Emma and Mama too. We are getting closer to our departure date for Washington to see Granny and Grandpa Henriksen and as we get closer we are all getting more and more excited about going. We've been talking about airplanes and going bye-bye-really trying to get the kids ready for the big trip. I've found that if we keep telling them about going and about who we are going to see that they adjust better. I'm not bragging when I say this, but our kids are well behaved and we are hoping that that continues for the plane ride to and from Washington. They seem to do well wherever we go. I'm sure I'll be posting again before we leave, but I just had to share the news with everyone! Take care.

March-April News
The Birthday Party
The twins had a great time with the family and friends that were able to make it to their 1st birthday party this past Saturday. We decided that it would be easier to just do cake and ice cream rather than doing a full meal. It turned out to be a good idea and so much easier to do and clean up afterwards. The kids got loads of Spring and Summer clothes which is what Mama and Daddy requested-Christmas took care of toys for a while. They did get a few small toys, but the rest was clothes. And we did get a surprise "gift" for an hour or two. My Uncle Mike knows an owner of a pet store that's located really close to our house and he and Jason had been joking around about getting the kids a puppy for their birthday. Well, Uncle Mike snuck out and borrowed a puppy for an hour or two and brought it to the house for the kids. It was really cute and almost had Daddy and Mama convinced to keep it, but introducing another family pet into the house is still a few more years down the road. So for now they are happy with having our cat Smokie to chase around and play with. As for the cakes-I made two to make sure that Henry had his own and that Emma had her own and so that we had enough for everyone that came. As soon as I put Emma's cake in front of her she took a huge handful out of the side of it and laughed. She thought it was great! Henry on the other hand needed a little coaxing and even then he wasn't too sure about his cake. He was tired and had had a big day already so he ended up with Cheerios instead-he's not really into sweet stuff except fruit. After cake and ice cream we opened presents and they seemed to enjoy that more this time-helped pull things out of giftbags, etc. We had a really good time with the family and were able to visit with some friends that we haven't been able to get together with in quite some time.
One Year Doctors Appointment
We went on the 7th for th twins' one year doctor appointment. Our third trip to her office in the last three weeks. We had been in before because we have all been sick in the last month. The kids are back to good health and Daddy and Mama are almost there too. Anyway, went for their appointment and here's the latest on our one year olds.
Henry-19.5 pounds, 27 inches long
Emma-17 pounds, 26 1/2 inches long
Both of the kids are sprouting their upper front teeth now. Henry almost has a full set of teeth already and Emma is now starting to catch up. So they are both chewing on hands , toys , blankets, pretty much anything that will fit. We are introducing more finger foods slowly and will be graduating to whole milk within the next few weeks. As for walking--both of them are tranfering from one piece of furniture to another without any problems and both are standing on their own for long periods of time. And Daddy and Mama have been working with both of them on walking with help. So it won't be long. It would be great if they were walking by the time we go to Washington to visit Granny and Grandpa Henriksen. Dr. Kowalska gave them both an outstanding mark and then let the nurse come in for their shots--two in each leg and one in each arm. They were NOT happy to say the least! But we all mananged to get over it quickly and they are both happy as can be!
Washington Visit-1st Family Vacation
We are flying up to Washington state at the beginning of April for a visit to see Granny and Grandpa Henriksen, Mammaw Christie, Aunt Rachel and Uncle James, Uncle Kasey,Aunt Tanya, Isabel, and Hope. And we are all so excited to be going. Jason really needs the time away and what better way to relax then to go visit our other half of the family that we don't get to see as often. This will be our first trip as a family and I'm a little nervous, but I think that everything will work out. Hopefully the kids will sleep while we are in the air. Only a few more weeks and we'll be on our way!
Well that's all for now. Take care and we'll talk to you soon and as usual more pictures will be posted soon too!

Birthday Wishes-1 Yr
Dearest Henry and Emma,
Mama and Daddy want to wish you both a very Happy 1st Birthday. We are so glad that you came into our lives a year ago today happy and healthy. We hope that one day when you are older you can look at this site and see just how much you were and are loved by Mama and Daddy and all of our family and friends. You had a very nice first birthday. Daddy had to work, but Mama was here with you. And we had a great day playing together. Daddy did make it back home in time to tuck you in and pretty soon after he did you drifted off to sleep. Daddy has the magic touch. Mama hopes that if you remember anything from today it's that we had a good time together and that you are loved so much and Mama and Daddy are so glad to have you here. You are both growing so fast and learning new things every day. You make Daddy and Mama very proud. It has been an amazing journey so far. We love you both so very much.
Happy 1st Birthday!
Love,
Daddy and Mama

1st Birthday Preparations
WOW!!!!We can't believe that it's already been a year since Mr.Henry William and Miss Emma Joy came into our lives. This past year has flown by and I can't believe we made it. Jason and I thought that the first two months after the kids were born lasted forever, but after that time just went by fast(well for the most part). So many changes, so much growing, and so much learning for all of us. It's a LOT of work and a LOT of fun! And we've tried to include all of you in all the changes. I wish all of our family and friends could be here to help celebrate, but for those of you that aren't able to be here-there will be pictures and video coming soon. We have a big weekend planned. Friday of course is the big day and Momma and Daddy will celebrate with them then. And then Saturday afternoon we are having my family and some of our close friends over for cake, ice cream, and presents. And then Sunday, Mammaw Christie(Jason's grandmother/great grandmother to H&E) and her friend Sue are coming by for a visit. So we'll be celebrating all weekend. And as I said before we will take lots of pictures and video too(charging batteries for both cameras now). And I'll post ASAP! Take care and we'll talk again soon.
