Whew

This past week has been entertaining.. By us weighting them it looks to be that both have both reached 7 pounds now. Henry still has gas problems. We are going to try some formula that multiple parents have suggested to me. All of them had the same issue and said that this was the formula that solved it. I am going to give the formula a week. Emma on the other hand is fine with what ever we give her. They both are holding their heads up for short periods of time and scoot when we put them on their tummy. Henry is trying to roll him self over when we place him on his back for play time. Emma is most definitely the less active of the 2. I wonder if this is really the early signs of which twin is going to be the dominate one. We have spent more time focusing on getting Emma more active in hopes that it will help in her development. More times than not in the past week we have separated the twins at night one sleeping with Henry out front and one with Emma in the bedroom.

We spent most the day today and the aunts house for Easter. This was fun for us. We go to sleep :>.. Also the great grandparents got to see the kids for the first time today. I forgot to take pictures. All for now. I have to work some now.

The Doc Appt

We went to doctor yesterday. Henry 5 pound 14 oz. Emma 5 pound 11.25 oz. They are now past the LBW value. 7 pounds is a key for us allowing them to sleep as long as they want in between feedings. Then 11 pounds is when we can allow then to sleep all night. Hopefully 7 in les than a month. The Doc said they are both in good shape. We got eye drops for Henry he has a tear duck that is still part way closed. Also we have switched them to lactose free formula in hopes they will not be a fussy between feedings. We are slo starting to use mylo drops for Henry to help with gas. We go back in two weeks. Also on another note we have passed the option period for buying the home. We should be good to close on the 4th of april. Right now working on getting insurance. So alot going on really quick. I also found a goverment grant that might give use a down payment of 10% of cost. I am working on the paperwork to file and see if we qualify.

Feeding?

Big change from every 3 hrs to every 1.5-2 hrs. Eat kids eat. I wish they would eat 3-4 oz at a time instead of half of that. We are gonna try to keep them up more today so they are more tired tonight.

Yesterday

Since we left the hospital on the 5th Jenny was having neck pains. Last night at 7 we had to go to the emergency room since they got painful enough. She described the pain as worse than labor. Good enough for me lets go. So after waiting for a couple hours she got seen. She has alot in inflammation in her neck on both sides. They gave her soma and vicodin. They also gave her a shot of demeral at the hospital. Suza had come over to watch the kids during the day to help watch the kids while I left to follow the home inspector of the new home. She said she could stay over through the night and let us both sleep. All I can say is thank you very much. She found a interesting trick they both like being held close together in one arm. I should have taken a snapshot. I don't how much jenny will be available today. All I really hope is that she gets better. Suza again offered to come back and help. I do not want to her to feel like we are abusing her help.

Last Night

Last night was a long night for both of us. Both the kids were up most the night. We finally got some sleep at about 5-6 am. Then they slept to 10 am we just let them. They both ate quite a bit this morning afterwards. Jenny gave them a quick rub down this morning. So they are clean and sleeping now. I really should be sleeping to but I need to eat. I am also working on a home page to henryandemma.com. Anyway thanks to Suza, elysabeth, Amy for coming over yesterday and helping us out. All for now will post some new pictures some time today.

The Best so far. Posted by Hello

Perfecto

The doc was happy with the kids. It was good to hear 'Perfecto'. The kids look great no need to see them till they are 2 weeks old. So in 10 days we go back. They have both gained weight after the initial drop. Henry is now heavier than Emma by 2 oz. This was a great relief to both of us. We really like this doctor she is funny and friendly. She also said we are going in the right direction. They should still be loosing weight but they are not so we are ahead of the curve. Thanks to our family and friends for all your support. We seem to be having good luck. I hope it lasts.

First 2 days

Well I have an issue I seem to sleep through the 4 am feeding every night. This waking up every 3 hrs is killing me. It seems to have taken its toll on Jenny. She is in good spirits. Mommy radar has kicked in. We went to the lactation specialist. She keeps pushing breast feeding. All moms I have talked to say it takes at least a week for the kids to take. The specialist says they should be taking now. I think she is mental. If the don't take Jenny will pump. We have to feed them 8-10 times a day at 1.5-2 oz at a time. This has become easier since we have started using a bottle warmer. I will post Pictures today of the kids. Its kinda of weird to see a mini me and a mini Jenny. I think the kids know who we are. I love it when they look up at me with their open eyes. I know this will be a great but I am scared I will screw up. The kids seem happy or at least content. Henry has slight jaundice and is yellow in the face. Emma is in great shape. I hope we can hang on till we can allow them to sleep through the night. It seems they would like to sleep 4 or more hours at that time but we can't let them. We need to get them to 7 pounds as soon as possible. Today we go see the doc and see what she says about their progress. I hope we are doing this right. I do know we are doing what we think is best the best way we can. I still have 2 weeks before I have to go back to work. All for now.

The Basics

Our kids were born a little over 5 pounds each. Underweight but good for twins. My wife carried them to term a great thing. Her pregnacy went pretty well. I love her more now than ever. I never knew that this type of thing could be so life changing but I must say I view life very different now. She is the best thing that ever happened to me. Henry came first at 19:52 and emma second at 20:01. It was a great thing to see. I know I could never do what she did. Things that seemed important are not so important now.
