Emma's 1st Tooth, More Words, & Moving About
Yea!!!! Emma's first tooth made it's appearance on Wednesday the 12th of October! I made the discovery as I was checking her gums. I got a surprise when I stuck my finger in- a little sharp point snagged my fingertip. Emmy has been chewing on her fingers and hand more in the last week or so so I decided to check. We thought for sure that Henry would be the first one to push a tooth thru. He's been practically chewing his little hand off for months now-but still no tooth. But from the way things feel in his little mouth it won't be long. And when that happens they'll be having steak and potatoes with Daddy! Another new word that is music to Daddy's ears-"Dada"-both Henry and Emma are now saying "Dada" and Jason is loving it! They call after him now when he leaves or enters the room-just like they do with Mom. And I think that some other words are trying to make their way out, but for now it's Emma and Henry's own little language. They chat up a storm in the morning after they first get up. And continue to talk and laugh at each other and with each other throughout the day. Mom and Dad occasionally get to talk too! They are both moving around quite a bit too. No official crawling yet, but we are So close! Emma "crawled" the other day, but didn't realize it. They both scoot around on their tummies and roll around all over the place. Both of us try to work with them every day to show they how to do it. Imagine that -what a picture! Another new achievement-Emma is now sitting up by herself. She can't pull herself up yet, but you can sit her down and she stays up on her own and plays for about 30 minutes at a time-sometimes longer. Henry on the other hand needs a little help. He really likes his tummy time and is perfectly happy with that, but we've tried to gently persuade him to try sitting and playing. He's staying in the upright position longer and longer ever day. Emma still goes for longer, but I'm sure Henry will get the hang of it. Unfortunately I don't have any pics of them sitting to post this time, but I will get some for the next post. Both of them like to stand also-they could do it for hours-trust me we know-our arms are worn out from holding them up. But Jason and I have been working on helping them balance on their own and pretty soon they won't need Dad or Mom to help. So I guess you could say they are growing and developing like crazy. I'm trying to take lots of pictures, but sometimes I'm just not fast enough! I'm including several pictures from the last two weeks. Most of these are from the time we spent at Papa and Nana's house(Aunt Suza too!). Jason was on a business trip last week so we stayed with my folks for a few days. Some are from here at home. That about covers all the new happenings. We are looking forward to a visit from Granny(Jason's mom) next week. I'll share those pics with you too. Will write more soon.
